Interested in Volunteering at the Association for Women in Psychology Conference in San Diego?The conference committee in San Diego is in need of volunteers for both on-site and advanced help for the conference. Duties vary, but will include helping with on-site registration, collecting information for pre-conference attendees’ continuing education credit, staffing the souvenir table, and providing overall conference support. Volunteering is a great way to be a part of the event, connect with others at the conference and support AWP. Volunteers help for a minimum of 4 hours either before or during the conference. Those who do volunteer for 4 hours or more are eligible for a number of benefits:
- Out-of-Town Students and Early Career Professionals who volunteer at the conference will receive discounted rooms at the conference hotel ($20 per night for four volunteers per room that has 2 queen beds OR $50 per night for two volunteers per room that has 2 queen beds). This is significant savings since the AWP rate at the Hilton is $140-$155/night!
Please Note: All volunteer rate rooms are arranged by the conference committee. No reduced rates will be available for rooms booked directly with the hotel.
- Local Area Student Volunteers who do not want conference hotel rooms will receive free Conference Registration (but must join AWP or renew their membership for $15 or more if able) and a free ticket to our Saturday evening dance.
- Local Area Individuals who are not students who do not want hotel rooms who volunteer at the conference will receive Conference Registration at the Limited Means Rate and a free ticket to our Saturday evening dance.
